gba: What led you to forming the group and producing the CD CREATION? .............
HY: "I was looking for a deeper experience in music. After a career of impressing listeners, I found myself driven to offer them -- as well as myself -- a more peaceful and serene place within.I went from wanting to impress, to wanting to caress the listener." ..................
gba: Where did you meet Gary?---------------------------------
HY: "My search led me to a Native American Pow Wow in California. I met Gary there -- and Sarah -- and recognized the depth of their music and their genuineness. It was inspiring! The three of us became friends and began playing and recording together." ............
gba: What were the recording sessions like?...........
HY: "We would smudge with sage smoke, a Native American ritual of burning a whisk of sage, sort of like incense, to focus and purify body and spirit. Gary would tell a brief story or anecdote of great depth and then we would just start playing. Everything was recorded at once. The most important thing is listening really deeply with respect for every sound. You wait and you find your perfect place in the whole and all you intend is to express respect, gratitude, joy. The result was amazing. The tracks structured themselves. Three tracks are exactly seven minutes long, others eight, and four minutes and forty-four seconds."........
gba: Tell us more about Gary. .........
HY: "I see him as a Sage -- always in a state of bliss guided by his Creator and wise ancestral spirits."................
gba: And what about Sarah? .........
HY: "Sarah the musician, Sarah the Native American Council member, exuding warmth and love -- she's a beautiful human being!" ..............
gba: How do you sum up CREATION?......
HY: "It transcends cultural boundaries -- reaching beyond time to the eternal moment of Spirit -- creating in Love." .....
gba: Undoubtedly you're doing other things.......
HY: "Yes, I have several other music projects in process." ...............
